Kitchen, residential, Barendrecht (NL)

This very contemporary kitchen, fully constructed of aluminum and bluestone was composed very carefully to give the (to be honest) rather dull terraced house a loft-like feeling. The existing walls were teared down and the cabinets became the new walls.

The aluminum of the kitchen really stands out on the dark blue linoleum floor. The handles of the door are aluminum as well, they blend in the door so all the attention goes to the waves on front.

Extra height was given to the kitchen, not by raising the floor boards but with a very chunky worktop. Dutch people are tall…
